2021.10.28 12:15 afaqa-y13 Your best/worst conference experiences?
U.K. undergrad here - I'm part of the organising committee for a finance conference taking place early next year.
As someone who obviously hasn't had much personal experience at conferences/recruitment fairs or similar - it'd be great to know what the sub's experiences have been of those kind of events (I know a lot take place in the world of academia) in the past and anything particularly good/bad that stuck with you - right down to the smallest details!
Thank you in advance :)

Video is rendered in 720p 60fps , and so is all my other videos on YouTube currently. I'll be uploading more; not just graves , but silent horror, blitzkid, ect.

2021.10.28 12:15 ProfessorGigs Wanted: Interesting souls from Starr and Willacy Counties who would make fine guests for an RGV podcast.
I'm halfway through creating Season 1 of a podcast where I interview people from the RGV who are culturally, historically, or artistically relevant to the RGV. I have plenty of guests from Cameron Co. and quite a bit from Hidalgo Co., but I would definitely like some representation from our other 2 sister counties, Starr and Willacy.
Some examples of who to reach out to would be...
-Movers and Shakers
-Skilled artists of any medium.
-Those in the know of RGV secrets and hidden gems.
-Authors and experts in interesting fields.
-Storytellers or those with old and interesting anecdotes.
-Local Historians or Oral Historians.
-Civic or city Leaders
-"That guy" from your hometown.
If you know of someone interesting like this who would like to be interviewed in Starr or Willacy Counties, let me know!

2021.10.28 12:15 wheredidiputthatduck Made a post earlier looking for information on short gut regarding my husband. Figured I'd post again to see if anyone sees it.
My husband (36m) has had short bowel syndrome since he was a new born. He has less than an inch of small intestine but his colon is intact. He takes gattex which has helped to get him off a feeding tube to his stomach and hasn't needed an IV port for fluids in some time.
Recently we learned he lost 10% of his bone density and he now gets a zoledronic acid infusion once a year for the next few years. He also started to need copper infusions. Beyond that, he seems a lot more tired than normal for him. He falls asleep constantly while we're together. He also seems like he is having trouble putting his thoughts together at times. It'll sometimes take him what feels like 5 minutes to have a 5 sentence conversation. He's also been getting a lot of nose bleeds. To a degree that's been normal for him in dry weather but it seems like it's been a lot more frequent this year, and a lot more blood.
I've asked him about it all and he just tells me he's fine and that his doctors would tell him if he wasn't. His labs come back on the lower end of normal but I can't help but think something is going on. I remember a one off conversation we had years ago about a doctor mentioning he wouldn't live much past 40 unless certain steps were taken. He didn't want to do those steps so he got up and left the room and found someone new with a better treatment plan. I'm worried he's too numb to medical treatment to take in the severity of stuff that should be a red flag.
Im finding it hard to not imagine him at the top of a spiral and I'm not sure what I can do. I don't really know what signs to watch or for or what is of major concern or not. I'm hoping to get into grad school and after that have a kid, but I'm worried about his health and wondering if I should hit pause until I know what to expect or if it's just in my head. He keeps telling me that he'll be able to have a normal life span barring something like an infection. But I don't know what the rates are in terms of life expectancy with extreme sbs and I've just trusted his word on it that he says he's fine until now.
Which to my next point, the covid vaccine. We each recently got our third dose, but I'm concerned about what could happen if he still gets covid. I know the vaccine works but I still worry when I hear about vaccinated individuals passing because of a covid infection.
I'm just at a loss and worried. Does anyone have experience with long term sbs patients from birth that could provide insight? Or any journal articles that might help beyond what I've been able to Google up. A lot out there seems to apply to people with more intestine than he has.

2021.10.28 12:15 doru15 Harmony bridges
I have some funds on other blockchains (polygon, fantom, avalanche) and i want to move a part of them into Harmony. Is there any bridge available between those blockchains and Harmony?
I want to avoid the ETH bridge (high gas cost). I used the BSC one, it's great, but i try to do this in one step if possible: from poly/avax/ftm -> one instead of poly/avax/ftm -> bsc -> one.

2021.10.28 12:15 Sotisp [Console] Dreaming Beyond the Sunset quest question!
The update is out and early graduation for S+ is available. However, the quest “[Seasonal Special Gift] Dreaming Beyond the Sunset” can’t be found… anywhere. The patch notes leave out where to find the quest or if it’s even available yet. Only information is that you complete it with Fughar.
I’ve spoken to some people who have already graduated early and they can’t find it. I’ve looked myself on my (still) seasonal character and I can’t find it.
If you’re on PC and this quest was eventually available, who offers it and was it available post-graduation or before?

2021.10.28 12:15 Daneki04 Bushes between opposite direction roads in highways shouldn't be a thing
If an accident happens, or some car needs help because its tire broke or something, the opposite direction road cars can't really see that car and help him or stop, only half of the highway can help.
